Bikes on sale

It's officially Fall, and that means the best riding weather all year. We'd like to clear out some inventory, and that means some good prices on really nice bikes. Please inquire for more details on any of these machines, or just stop in and see the bikes yourself.

2008 Redline 9-2-5, reg $600, now $450. We currently have 52 and 54 cm sizes,just the 54 cm size which is equivalent to a 58 cm bike that has a more traditional geometry.

2008 Origin8 Cykel3, lugged steel 3-speed commuter, 56 cm. Reg $600, now $450.

1978? Raleigh Competition GS, 54 cm c-t, lots of Campagnolo parts $450

We've had a great response to our dynamo wheel plus headlight combination, and have sold out of the IQ Fly headlights (hopefully get more in about 3 weeks). We still have plenty of Dlumotec LED lights in stock, and now the economical 2.4W halogen lights from Planet Bike.

Here's what you get:

A Shimano dynamo hub (3D71) laced to a black 32h Salsa Delgado 700c rim
OR
A Shimano dynamo hub (3N30) laced to a silver 36h Velocity Aeroheat 26" rim

AND
Either:
A Planet Bike halogen light for $150

I also have 650B dynamo wheels with the silver Velocity Synergy rim (32h) and the 3D71 hub. Add $30 to either of the combos listed above for this 650B option.

Saturday ride

Just wanted to get the 'nature ride' post from last week off the headline position, so people don't get confused.

I don't know what the hell we're going to do this Saturday (Sept 20). Hard to believe, I know. Of course, it's not too late. I may meticulously construct a highly orchestrated ride itinerary in the eleventh hour. You never know.

Saturday ride

By popular demand, this Saturday morning (8-11 AM) we will have our Nature Ride.

I used to call it an "offroad ride", but that scared some people off because, I suppose, they envisioned riding over some sort of difficult terrain that requires athleticism and special skills. This ride is not like that. It's in the woods and mostly unpaved, true, but it's on a trail that is, for the most part, smooth and flat. There is a short bumpy spot where it may be good to walk the bike, and one large hill that you can walk with no loss of pride, but otherwise, it's easy and fun.

We like dynamo-powered lights in the Fall and Winter because batteries need recharging and don't always handle low temperatures well. We are now offering a combination that includes a Shimano dynamo hub (DH-N71) laced to a Salsa Delgado Cross 700c rim paired with a Busch & Muller DLumotec Oval-N LED headlight for $195. For $25 more, upgrade the light to the Lumotec IQ Fly N-Plus (brighter and includes standlight).

Saturday, 9/6 Ride -- Family Ride

Its slow, its casual and there's always a great food/coffee stop. Bring the gang and join us.

I have asked this family to join us but their people have not yet responded. Hopefully, the "first dude" can make it.

We leave at 8 AM from HC World HQ.
